  The minister of State, Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri, has said the federal government is planning to create N750 billion agricultural funds in the enhancement of agriculture development in the country. He stated this at the annual poultry summit held yesterday in Lagos.   The Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Ogbonanya Onu, has pledged to assist the West Africa Infectious Diseases Institute (WAIDI) with research facilities from its agencies because infectious diseases can impede the economic development of the country if not curtailed. He said infectious diseases presently constitute about 70 percent of the nation’s health challenges, adding that the ministry will avail relevant institutes with its infrastructure to eradicate any of infectious diseases.
